Shopping for a wedding dress is one of the most memorable events of planning a wedding. These six simple steps can make the search less intimidating and more memorable.
The first place to look for a beautiful dress is your grandmother’s, mother’s or older sister’s closet. Although some of the dresses might be out of style and not what you are looking for, you might find your dream dress hanging in the back of a closet.
If this does not work for you, follow these steps when searching for the perfect wedding dress according to www.beau-cap.com.
The first step is to set a budget. An average dress ranges from $500 - $1500 and designer dresses range from $2,000 - $5,000. Also, you will be prepared to not try on anything that exceeds your budget.
Setting a timeline is the second step. A timeline is important because it sets limits on where you are able to look. You could shop forever for wedding dresses, but you have only so long until the wedding.
The third step is learning the styles and finding out what would look best with your body type.
After you have established your style, the fourth step is to make appointments at bridal boutiques.
In the appointment, establish whether or not they have dresses in your price range.
The fifth step is to keep an open mind to different styles. You should find 10-20 dresses or designers that you really enjoy (time permitting) and make appointments at those locations. This will allow more styles that you might not have thought of.
The final step is to invite someone who is fashion conscious to shop with you. Friends can see things in a different light and might come with a new perspective on what looks beautiful on you.
Alicia Messerli, bridal consultant of Treasures Formal Bridal and Tux of Rexburg said that often brides come in with a set idea in mind of what they want and often miss a dress that would look absolutely gorgeous on them.
