The Imago Theatre of Portland, Ore., is coming to Brigham Young University-Idaho to perform FROGZ on Nov. 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Auditorium.
A mask theatre, FROGZ has performers dressed up as all types of animals imaginable, from sloths to crocodiles, among other random items such as accordions and a 10-foot tall paper bag.
FROGZ is a show full of drama, comedy, and visual effects in consecutive short skits and blackouts. FROGZ performed on Broadway at the New Victory Theatre in 2000 and 2002.
Now in its 19th year of touring the world, the Imago Theatre was created in 1979 and is influenced by Jacques Lecoq, a renowned theater master from Paris, France.
According to www.imagotheatre.com, Imago Theatre’s official Web site, “Imago blurs the lines of the expected to break new ground, exploding peformance boundaries yet maintaining humor and humanity.”
Imago Theatre’s work has been broadcasted on television and seen on stage in Europe, Asia and North America. It has also won numerous Grammy nominations, awards and National Endowment for the Arts honors.
Tickets are $2 for BYU-Idaho students and are available in the Ticket Office.
