Prophets and presidents, royalty and knights, world culture representatives and world-traveled performers joined the students of BYU-Idaho for Spirit Week, marked by fanfare, flames, festivities and fun.
Last Tuesday, this campus was the gathering site for a “mini-general conference” with the inauguration of President Clark. Seven General Authorities attended with President Hinckley presiding, conducting and speaking.
“My own good fortune and Harvard’s is now your own,” said Harvard University President Lawrence Summers at the inauguration. “You could ask for no better leader and partner for charting your course.”
Presidents Thomas S. Monson, James E. Faust and Elders Henry B. Eyring, Richard G. Scott, Robert D. Hales, David A. Bednar, Earl C. Tingey and W. Rolfe Kerr also attended. Bonnie D. Parkin, Relief Society general president, and Susan W. Tanner, Young Women general president, were also present.
About 2,000 students watched the inaguration in the Hart auditorium, said James Terry, Ticket Office manager.
