Wildcats 6, Titans 2
The Wildcats held on to their four-run lead, snapping the Titans’ six-game winning streak by a score of 6-2 during their game Oct. 8.
With the bases loaded in the sixth inning the Titans failed to capitalize on the late-game rally, as the Wildcats made the third out, ending the game.
Steve Francis, a senior from Sandy, Utah, and Tim Richards, a freshman from Encinitas, Calif., pitched a solid game for the Wildcats, allowing the Titans a team that came in to the game averaging 10 runs per game only two runs.
Francis also hit a homerun and scored another run for the Wildcats.
Nate Eichner, a junior from Kendrick, Idaho, was 3-3 with an RBI for the Titans. Despite the loss, the Titans still finished in first place and will enjoy a first-round bye in the tournament.
