Halestorm Entertainment called for its new production, Sons of Provo, to be pulled from shelves after learning that several copies of the DVD were accidentally printed with a different movie, according to its official statement.
Out of 40,000 copies made, only four DVDs were confirmed to having Adored: Diary of a Porn Star on the DVD instead of Sons of Provo. Deseret Book was among the sellers that pulled the movie from their shelves, according to Halestorm, and it lost no time in contacting their other sellers requesting them to do the same.
Rexburg’s local Deseret Book was unable to comment, but did say that they pulled all copies of Sons of Provo from its shelves.
The BYU-Idaho University Bookstore said it was not contacted, but had already sold out of the movie two weeks ago. They have received no complaints from any who bought the DVD there.
The LDS-oriented entertainment company said Sons of Provo will be available for purchase by Oct. 14. They are offering $100 to anyone who purchased a copy of the other film and said they will donate another $100 to an anti-pornography organization.
“We are committed to creating and distributing movies and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy,” said Halestorm President Kurt Hale. “[We] are making every effort to resolve the issue and assure that no one else will have this unfortunate experience with Sons of Provo.”
