Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints exhorted thousands of men and boys on Priesthood responsibilities and doctrine during the priesthood session of general conference.
Elder David A. Bednar spoke first, challenging future missionaries not to just “go on a mission,” but to become missionaries long before receiving a call.
President James E. Faust of the First Presidency spoke, describing the safety and importance of being in harmony with the general authorities and local church leaders.
President Thomas S. Monson of the First Presidency shared experiences of how magnifying the priesthood has blessed his life and others.
President Gordon B. Hinckley outlined the Church’s recent humanitarian aid to Hurricane Katrina victims. He said he did not believe Hurricane Katrina was a punishment from God, but noted that calamities are signs of the times.
