Women arriving at the Taylor Chapel to view the General Relief Society Meeting for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dealt with a standing-room only crowd.

During the meeting broadcast from Salt Lake City, women were encouraged to work towards fulfilling God’s work.

“If you have done your best, which you usually do, your humble offering, whatever it may be, is acceptable [to the Lord],” said President James E. Faust, first counselor in the First Presidency of the Church.

As a tribute to the 200th anniversary of President Joseph Smith, the speakers reflected on President Smith’s purpose in establishing the Relief Society.

“There is a place for every women in Relief Society,” said Kathleen H. Hughes, first counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency.

Bonnie D. Parkin, General Relief Society President told sisters to be attentive to the Spirit that they might be able to fulfill the Lord’s plan.
