Performers share culture, music in concert

One Bayan Accordion, two balalaikas, and three Russian men make up the recipe for a lively Thursday night. The Russian musical trio Moscow Nights performed traditional Russian songs in the Kirkham Auditorium July 8.

The Golden Gates, a children’s group from Russia consisting of seven young girls, accompanied Moscow Nights in singing and dancing. They wore traditional costumes, incorporated scarves and handkerchiefs into their dances, and let out sporadic high-pitched "yelps" during the performance.
