About the Safety Office
The mission of the BYU-Idaho Safety Office is to assist with the fulfillment of the "Three Imperatives" of the university.
We accomplish this through a comprehensive safety program that involves the elements of education, inspection, mitigation, preparedness, regulatory/safety compliance, and response and recovery.
Six of the main areas of responsibility for the Safety Office are as follows:
Student, employee and visitor safety
Occupational and Environmental Safety & Health
Fire prevention
Hazardous Materials Management
Safety Training
Emergency Preparation & Mitigation
Our motto: "By Thy Hand They Shall Be Safe."
Reminding all that safety really starts with each individual and is not to be left up to the "other person". We are all held accountable for our actions or lack thereof.
