All Course Equivalencies
BYU-Idaho accepts most college-level courses from regionally-accredited institutions. If BYU-I offers a direct course equivalency to the transfer course, it will be accepted to fulfill a specific BYU-Idaho course credit. If no equivalency has been made, the credits will transfer to BYU-Idaho as elective credit (labeled as "GRAD 090"). The chart below includes BYU-Idaho's most common transfer schools. Each link will display an extensive list of accepted courses with their BYU-Idaho course equivalencies -- how these courses will transfer to BYU-Idaho.
For any course or school not included in these lists, please send an email with your question(s) to transfer@byui.edu for evaluation.
Foundations-Specific Course Equivalencies
Students intending to transfer to BYU-Idaho should be aware of specific Foundation course equivalencies. The Foundations program replaced the General Education program beginning with the 2008-2009 Academic Catalog.
Students transferring with an Associate of Art or Science degree from any regionally-accredited school will fulfill all BYU-Idaho Foundations requirements except FDCNC 250 and any uncompleted Eternal Truths (Religion) requirements. Students transferring with an Applied Associate degree will have their courses individually evaluated.
The following chart shows evaluated course equivalencies to meet specific BYU-Idaho Foundation requirements from the schools listed.
