Address and Name Change
ADDRESS CHANGE
All registered students are required to provide local address information. Generally, the local address is a Rexburg address (or within driving distance of the University). However, students who are completing an internship or taking online classes while away from the local area can provide their current address as well.
A student can notify the Student Records and Registration Office of address information by one of the following three methods:
-
Go to the BYU-Idaho home page (http://www.byui.edu/) and select the Registration link at the bottom of the page under "Quick Links" (www.byui.edu/spencer/LOCAL/WARN.htm). After going through the warning page and entering your NET ID and Password, click on the "Address Changes" link.
-
Call the Student Records and Registration Office at (208) 496-1001.
-
Send an e-mail message to registrar@byui.edu.
If a student's address information is not provided by the first day of class, a restriction is activated which prohibits further registration activity. The restriction will be removed when the local address is entered. It is also important to notify the Student Records and Registration Office if the address changes during the school year.
NAME CHANGE / MARITAL STATUS CHANGE
To change your name and/or update your marital status, complete the Name Change / Change in Marital Status Form and submit it to the Student Records and Registration Office (Kimball 190) with documentation of the name change (marriage license, divorce decree, Social Security card or driver's license with your desired name, etc). You can also fax these documents (208-496-1035) or mail them to BYU-Idaho, KIM 190, Rexburg, ID 83460-1640.
