So what is it that people do on a Spring Summit Expedition?


The BYU-Idaho Spring Summit is a 4 week long outdoor program that takes place in the Canyonlands region of Southeastern Utah.  Leadership, group development,  judgment, decision making, risk identification and management, wilderness stewardship and outdoor skill development is at the core of every activity.  Past Spring Summit programs have included the following activities:

•Ropes Course & Team Building at Badger Creek Ranch

•Desert Survival in the San Rafael Desert

•Canyoneering Blue John, Lower Baptist, Music and Muddy River Canyons, various canyons in the Escalante

•Desert & Canyon Backpacking in the Needles, Robber’s Roost and Coyote Gulch

•Sea Kayaking on Lake Powell

•Mountain Biking Slickrock, Porcupine Rim & the White Rim Trail

•Canoeing Stillwater Canyon

•Whitewater Rafting in Westwater or Cataract Canyon

•Solo Experience

•Peak Ascents in the La Sal Mountains

•Hiking in Arches National Park
