Singer, writer, actor, and all-around performer Matthew Kacergis is performing at the first BYU-Idaho Centerstage concert of 2018 in the Barrus Concert Hall, January 17 at 7:30 p.m. He most recently completed the role of Prince Eric in the national tour of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," and is now touring Idaho with his own revue of favorite cinematic selections in a show entitled: "The Songs of the Cinema: from Casablanca to La La Land."

"I'm using it as an opportunity to follow my journey of discovery of music through the movies," Kacergis told BYU-Idaho Radio in an interview. "Church choir and movies was all of my exposure to music, so we're going to do some Disney, some of the old Hollywood films, (there's just some spectacular music in those) and then a little modern as well."

Kacergis explained how Sun Valley Opera Association President Frank Meyer helped this show come about. "He reached out to me about a year and a half ago and asked If I'd be interested in coming to Idaho to do some concerts. It's one of those kind of serendipitous things that fell into my lap."
