Kate Anderson isn't the average 12-year old. She recently won the National Geographic Kids International Photography Contest for two photos she took of her chickens in Shelley, Idaho.
She won the grand prize for the U.S. competition with her photo titled "Owning the Stage."
Her prize for winning that U.S. competition is a ten-day National Geographic Galapagos Family Odyssey, with whom she has decided to take her father.
Kate also won the "Weird But True," category and will have the chance to travel Washington D.C., to visit the National Geographic headquarters.
Kate's photo will be featured in the May 2017 U.S. edition of National Geographic Kids, which reaches approximately four million U.S. readers.
