In a world full of different beliefs, backgrounds, thoughts and cultures, Foreign Figures, a band out of Utah, brings differences together in love and unity through music.

Utah natives, Seth Dunshee, Johnny Tanner and Steve and Eric Michels make up the band Foreign Figures. The band features Dunshee on bass, Tanner on guitar, Steve Michels on drums and Eric Michels on keys and lead vocals.

The band members are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and are returned missionaries.

When Eric Michels came home from serving a mision for the Church in Ukraine, he didn't necessarily want to pursue music but Dunshee said he knew they would have a successful band.

"(When he got home) it only took Eric a week to realize he's a natural musician."

Steve Michels said being members of the Church helps when it comes to being in a band because they can find inspiration from the spirit.

"You know how you can get inspiration from the spirit in your life, I feel like we kind of tap into that in our music creation by following the spirit of the song and the emotion that it's bringing and trying not to over think it or overanalyze," said Steve Michels.

Foreign Figures has a full length album, an EP and a few singles. Their newest single, Reign, was released May 18, 2018. You can find their music on their website, Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube. Click below to hear the full episode.
