The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple has announced its open house and rededication dates. The temple was the first built in Idaho by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The free open house begins Saturday, April 22 and goes through Saturday, May 20, 2017. Tours are not given on Sundays.
You can get free tickets at www.templeopenhouse.lds.org in the coming weeks.
The formal rededication for the temple will be Sunday, June 4, 2017 in three sessions. Prior to the rededication local youth will present a cultural celebration on Saturday, June 3.
The temple was originally dedicated Sept. 23, 1945 as the eighth operating temple of the church. It was closed in March 2015 for renovations. Idaho has four temples including the Boise, Twin Falls and Rexburg temples. A temple is also under construction in Meridian and is expected to be completed soon.
