Rob Garrett has been appointed to serve as the Vice President of Executive Strategy and Planning for BYU-Idaho, a new department created due to the growth of the university.
In an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio, Brother Garrett said he never expected to be a vice president for the university, but he's excited to see what this new position holds.

Brother Garrett said the new department will handle things like determining how many students the university needs to admit each semester and how much financial aid the university can offer to students.

Executive Strategy and Planning will serve as an extension of the president and the Executive Office and will work on issues throughout the university, as well as interfacing with the Board of Trustees.

According to a press release from President Clark Gilbert, Brother Garrett will be responsible for University Relations and LDS Philanthropies.
