The BYU Football team is transitioning its focus after a tough loss against a nationally ranked team.

The Cougars played a terrible game against number 13, LSU last weekend, where the final score was 27-0. BYU couldn't find any offense. They had negative five rushing yards, barely 102 receiving yards and they never passed the 50-yard line the entire game.

Head coach Kalani Sitake said the team played hard, but he knows the fans were disappointed.

"Where I feel really bad is our fans had to watch that, and that's my fault. We'll make sure to do better as a team and as a coaching staff but our players played hard," said Sitake. "We just ran into a really good team and we didn't play our best and that cannot happen this weekend because we have another great team coming into our home."

Sitake has often said the team keeps its focus on one game at a time and their moving forward, preparing for another big game.

Saturday, September 9, BYU welcomes The Utah Utes to Provo for what many call "The Holy War." Both teams have one win and one loss so far this season. Coach Sitake said BYU is unique and their goal is simple; just win.

"Some of the stuff that I've learned from LaVell and some of the stuff that's unique to BYU I think gives us an edge as a coaching staff, especially with recruiting, but when it comes to a rivalry game, you just got to win. That's the key and that's the focus," said Sitake. "You've got a better chance of winning if you play better and are more efficient and that's got to be all three phases. It's a really good team coming into town and we're looking forward to the opportunity to play them."
