Kim B. Clark, President

Kim B. Clark was announced as the new president of Brigham Young University-Idaho on June 6, 2005.

 

President Clark was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Helen Mar (Hickman) and Merlin Clark. He was raised in Salt Lake City and in Spokane, Washington, where he graduated from Ferris High School.

 

He began his undergraduate education at Harvard University where he completed his freshman year in 1968 prior to serving a two-year mission in the South German Mission.

 

Before returning to Harvard, he studied for one year at Brigham Young University. It was there that he discovered his love for education and the love of his life, Sue Lorraine Hunt. They were married in June of 1971 prior to returning to Harvard University where he completed his education-earning bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in economics.

 

In 1978 President Clark became a member of the faculty at the Harvard Business School. At the time of his departure to become the president of BYU-Idaho, he was serving as dean of the school and the George F. Baker professor of administration.

 

President Clark and his wife are the parents of 7 children and the grandparents of 7+ grandchildren.
