Don´t Be a Victim Of Identity Theft
Here are some simple things you can do to protect your identity
- Never give your personal information to anyone you don't know. For example your social security number, bank account number, driver license number.
- Never carry your Social Security card unless you need it for a job interview.
- Shred all credit card and other bank offers. Don't just throw them in the trash.
- Never leave your checkbook out and secure your unused box of checks.
- If you get an unsolicited credit card in the mail, call the card company and find out why the card was issued. You may already be a victim of identity theft.
- Immediately report any lost or stolen credit cards, checks, or identification. Call your bank, credit card company and the Police.
- Be aware of scams. If anyone offers you a great deal and all you have to do is provide a little information, it's probably not a good deal. You could be liable for losses to your bank or credit card company.
