NASA Internship Opportunities

 

With all of the snow on the ground, it probably doesn't seem like the time to be thinking about summer internships!  However, the deadlines for NASA summer internships are quickly approaching, with the first being January 16, 2007 and many closely after this.  A brief description of 17 opportunities is included below - if you have any questions, please contact the Idaho Space Grant Consortium at (208) 885-6438, or isgc@uidaho.edu. Kennedy Space Center

       The Kennedy Space Center has started a new summer internship program.  This new

       program offers several opportunities. The Kennedy Space Center's (KSC) Intern Program is

       intended to attract students who are pursuing an engineering or business/public

       administration degree to work during the summer months as well as other academic

        terms.  The objective is to provide students valuable work experience related to their

       academic studies and knowledge of KSC's mission.  The Program also provides KSC an

       opportunity to evaluate the student's suitability for participation in the Co-op Program or full-

       time employment upon graduation.

 

       The deadline for submission is April 13, 2007.

NASA / Glenn Research Center (near Cleveland, OH)

       Come to the Internship Office (Kimball 230) to pick up an official hard-copy application. 

 

       10 week experience - 3 sessions available: May 21 - July 27, June 4- August 10 , June 10- 

       August 17.  Students receive a biweekly stipend ranging from $800 - $1200.  Round-trip

       travel is reimbursed if you are more than 50 miles from the center.  Students are

       responsible for their own housing arrangements (a housing list is available) .

        Qualifications:

       Must be U.S. citizen, Must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

 

       As there is quite a bit of documentation necessary for application, please be advised that  

       applications must be mailed and received by January 31, 2007 to be considered. Once

       your application has been received by NASA, you should receive a confirmation postcard, or

       email if provided. Only students selected to participate will receive further communication

       following confirmation of application.

NASA Graduate Student Research Program

WHEN: 1 year period

STIPEND: Fellowships are awarded for one year as training grants in the amount of $30,000. This amount includes an $21,000 student stipend, a student allowance of $5,000 (housing, travel, etc.), and a $4,000 university allowance

Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars
