Dr. Randall Kempton,(M.M. Brigham Young University, D.M.A. Arizona State University) came to BYU-Idaho in 1999. Prior to his appointment as Director of Choral Activities, he conducted the University Choir and Men's Choir. He has taught conducting, arranging, private voice, diction, music theory, and choral education.
Previous to his arrival in Rexburg, he was the director of high school choral activities at the Meridian School in Provo, Utah, and has directed ensembles at Arizona State University, Brigham Young University Provo, and Utah Valley University. His experience also includes professional work as a pianist, vocal coach, and a vocalist in classical, jazz, and musical theater settings. He studied conducting and arranging with Mack Wilberg, Ron Staheli, and David Stocker.
Dr. Kempton and his wife Jen are the happy but often frazzled parents of nine children.
