Local Measures

BYU-Idaho participates in and benefits greatly from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and will soon participate in the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) for the first time.  Similarly, a growing number of degree programs across campus are using national disciplinary exams.  These exams allow us to compare our work to that of our peers and so to gauge, however roughly, the quality of that work.

As beneficial as national measures are, they are not helpful for the assessment of outcomes unique to BYU-Idaho.  To better assess progress toward hard-to-measure and unique outcomes such as disciple-leadership and acting in faith, we will create local measures.
