MicroGrade Online Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I upload students into a class?
A: Follow these steps.

  1. In the Class Lists area, choose the 4th Micrograde option and then click Submit.
  2. This brings up all of the student information in a new webpage.  Right click in the page and choose View Source.
  3. This opens the information into a text file.  Delete the first row (ID First Last Email) so that the file only contains student data.
  4. Choose File > Save and save the text file onto your desktop or other location.
  5. Go into MGO and open the class/section where you want to add students.
  6. Choose Edit Student Roster and then at the bottom of that page browse for the file you saved.
  7. Next to Format, choose Tab.  Click Upload.
  8. This will populate your class/section with the students currently registered for the class.
  9. Note:  As students add/drop your class, you will need to manually add/delete them from MGO.

Q: I have a class of 100 students and it doesn't seem to be uploading them all, what should I do?
A: We recommended opening the .txt file and break them up into groups of 25, then upload them so it wouldn't be quite so much of an overload upload.

Q: How do I delete a section?
A: Sometimes this word section is misused. Before you go through the following instructions, be sure that you are indeed wanting to delete a section with in a course not an actual course. If it is just a section within a course
 1. Go into the course and under My Classes are the different sections
 2. Click on the section that needs to be deleted
 3. Class Settings
 4. Delete this section
