Students who desire to tailor their own program can graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in University Studies. The University Studies degree requires the completion of Foundations and university requirements, a minor, and two clusters (or two minors and a cluster), and at least 120 credit hours, of which 30 must be upper division and 30 must be taken in residence. The last 15 credits must be taken in residence at BYU-Idaho.
BYU-Idaho's online courses mirror campus courses. They follow the same semester format and use the learning model. Student will have regular due dates for assignments and should expect to interact with their instructors and peers often.
Our online degree program allows students the flexibility to finish their degree while balancing a busy life. Students can accelerate to graduation by taking classes all three semesters each year, or take a semester off when needed. Students must complete the program within eight years.
Students may choose either two minors and one cluster, or two clusters and one minor.

Students who meet the admission requirements can apply to be directly admitted into a online degree program. These students will start by taking the online orientation course, a one credit course offered every block. This course prepares students to succeed online and charts a course to graduation. Pathway students who complete Academic Start do not need to take GS 111.
