HIRING PROCESS

HIRING STEPS

  1. Online application (as hiring needs arise, applications will be reviewed).
  2. Evaluation Course (online asynchronous two-week course, 7-10 hours per week).
  3. HR interview (20-30 minutes, does not require travel to Rexburg).

Applicants may be dismissed from further consideration after any one of these steps. Applicants will only receive notification when there is a change to your application status, such as dismissal from the process or invitation to proceed. Your application will remain on the interest list of the course for which you've applied for two years at which time it will expire and you will need to reapply.

COMPENSATION

Instructors with a master's degree or higher will be compensated at a rate of $975.00 per credit and instructors with a bachelor's degree will receive $875.00 per credit taught during the semester.

TRAINING

New employees are required to complete an online asynchronous training for which they will be compensated $300.00. This training requires a time commitment of 7-10 hours each week. (Note: This is not the same as the Evaluation Course which is a part of the hiring process.)

TIME COMMITMENT

Online instructors are expected to spend 3.5 hours per credit each week fulfilling the requirements of the course they teach. Instructors should support and convey the ideals of the LDS Church, the mission of BYU-Idaho, and the BYU-Idaho Learning Model as they guide students to become faithful disciples and capable leaders.
