Application Process & Admissions Requirements

The Associate in General Studies (AGS) Online Degree program is for former Ricks College/BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College, select BYU (Provo) and Pathway Program students who are unable to attend the BYU-Idaho Rexburg campus and who can meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have at least 15 credit hours of previous residency at Ricks College, BYU-Idaho (this includes the Pathway Program), BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College or BYU (Provo).
  • Have good academic (≥3.0 GPA) and financial standing at all institutions previously attended
  • Commit to the BYU-Idaho Honor Code and maintain annual ecclesiastical endorsements
  • Have never completed a bachelor's degree

 

The Bachelor of University Studies (BUS) Online Degree program is for former Ricks College/BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College students who are unable to return to campus and who can meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have at least 30 credit hours of previous residency at Ricks College, BYU-Idaho, or BYU-Hawaii; have an associate's degree from LDS Business College; or have completed the BYU-Idaho Associates in General Studies (AGS) online degree program. 
  • Have good academic (≥2.0 GPA) and financial standing at all institutions previously attended
  • Commit to the BYU-Idaho Honor Code and maintain annual ecclesiastical endorsements
  • Have never completed a bachelor's degree

 

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Management (BSAM) Online Degree program is for former Ricks College/BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College students who are unable to return to campus and who can meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have completed an Applied Associates Degree at Ricks College, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii or LDS Business College 
  • Have good academic (≥2.0 GPA) and financial standing at all institutions previously attended
  • Commit to the BYU-Idaho Honor Code and maintain annual ecclesiastical endorsements
  • Have never completed a bachelor's degree

 

Note: These programs are not for BYU-Idaho day students (see Online options for day students). Former BYU students with over 30 credit hours need to contact BYU's Bachelor of Generel Studies Office to inquire about their options.

 

 

What standards must I commit to?      

Brigham Young University - Idaho, including the Bachelor of University Studies program, exists to provide an education in an atmosphere consistent with the ideals and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  That atmosphere is created and preserved through conduct that reflects those ideals and principles.  To that end, each student must commit to live by the Honor Code and submit a continuing ecclesiastical endorsement at the beginning of each year.

 

 

How do I apply?

If you are interested in one of the degrees, and you meet all of the requirements above, please begin by completing the Online Degrees Application for Admission.

Applicants are required to:

  • Complete the BYU-Idaho Online Degrees Application for Admission 
    • Part 1: Student Information
    • Part 2: School Selection
    • Part 3: Confidential Report
    • Submit Official Transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Allow up to 4-6 weeks for admission to BYU-Idaho

 

After being admitted to the program you will:

  • Receive an acceptance e-mail that includes a link to registration and next steps information
  • Regsiter for and complete the Online Degrees orientation course
  • Complete the orientation course before enrolling in any other courses
