DEPARTMENT OF NURSING Graduate Characteristics/Outcomes   Upon completion of the Nursing curriculum, the graduate will have a Professional Identify, be a Competent Nurse and use Clinical Reasoning to provide holistic nursing care and be a:

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN)

Disciple Leader demonstrating accountability through the application of the principles of the Church Education System Honor Code in academic, clinical and leadership activities and by integrating Christ-centered care.

Lifelong Learner by nurturing their spirit of inquiry and pursuit of Baccalaureate education.

Creative and Critical Thinker  by utilizing clinical reasoning to identify and resolve problems by integrating the nursing process in implementing patient-centered care.

Effective communicator demonstrating effective delegation and communication skills and

Skilled Professional applying reflective reasoning, logic and quantitative analysis to new ideas, opinions, and situations and analyze problems.

Engaged Citizen advocating for patients and families in ways that respect diversity and promote growth and development as children of God.

Disciple Leader internalizing and characterizing the principles of the Church Education System Honor Code, demonstrating moral integrity in professional practice.

Lifelong Learner nurturing their spirit of inquiry and indicating intent to pursue graduate degrees in nursing.  

Creative and Critical Thinker articulating the integration of critical reasoning to identify and resolve problems by synthesizing principles of communication and teaching and learning in multi-cultural communities and by critiquing and applying published research in evidence-based practice.   

Effective Communicator initiating delegation and inter-professional collaboration and present ideas and arguments clearly through oral, written, and visual forms.   

Skilled Professional incorporating knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a competent nurse by acting as a patient advocate while designing legal, ethical, and safe patient-centered care.
