REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • **Updated** PLEASE do NOT use the NursingCAS website for your application!  We have discontinued using that method of applying.
  • Apply to BYU-I at besmart.com
  • Contact Academic Advising
  • BIO 264, BIO 265, CHEM 101, and BIO 221 must be completed with a " B " or higher
  • PSYCH 111, NUTR 150, BIO 381, BIO 264L, BIO 265L, CHEM 101L BIO 222, MATH 221B must be completed prior to the start of the program with a C or higher
  • Have taken at least 2 of the following Foundation Courses: FDENG 101, FDSCI 101, FDAMF 101, or FDMAT 108
  • Will also look at work (paid & unpaid) experience (i.e., CNA, EMT, Medical Assisting, church and community service, and leadership), LDS missions, Military service, and ROTC students with approved grad plans
  • May only apply twice (please note your letters of reference do not carry over)
  • Have completed or be enrolled in NURS 105
  • 3.5 cumlative grade point average (GPA) or 3.5 core GPA at the time of application (Core courses are indicated by the * in the chart below)
  • Pre-admission exam with a minimum 67% pass rate

For Students with English as a Second Language

  • Take the English Proficiency Examination
  • Have a TOEFL score of at least 600 (paper-based score), 250 (computer-based score), 100 (Internet-based score).

DEADLINES

The following deadlines are for the Pre-licensure BSN  application.

FALL ADMISSION: February 15th
WINTER ADMISSION: May 15th
SPRING ADMISSION: November 15th


SUGGESTED COURSE SEQUENCE

Semester 1-4 courses must be complete before beginning the core nursing sequence in semesters 5-8. Semesters 5-8 are consecutive and track overrides will be applied with no deferments accepted.
