Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing: Online
You must be a Registered Nurse (RN) to apply for the BSN program offered by the Department of Nursing through Continuing Education. Due to the rapid growth of the RN to BSN Online students admitted to the program will be admitted in the following priority:
- Ricks College/BYU-Idaho ASN graduates
- ASN graduates from other Colleges or Universities
Please note the majority of applicants admitted are Ricks/BYU-Idaho alumni. Admittance of other applicants is limited.
Application Process
- Apply to BYU-I as a non-traditional student. You must call Admissions to have them send you a non-traditional application. (208) 496-1020.
- Apply to the Department of Nursing. You can get this application from the BSN Application Page.
Applications Deadlines
- Fall Semester: May 1
- Winter Semester: October 1
- Summer Semester: January 2
- Review Orientation Packet after acceptance into BYU-I and the Department of Nursing.
All nursing classes are offered on-line through BYU-Idaho.
General education classes offered on-line through BYU-Idaho include Pathophysiology, Sociology, Religion (excluding Book of Mormon 121 and 122), Physical Science options, and American Institution requirement (Political Science).
General education classes not offered on-line at this time include Statistics, and Book of Mormon 121 and 122. These classes may be taken at another University, on campus or through Independent study.
Once a student begins the program they have 5 years to complete all the required classes and graduate with their BSN degree.
