Please follow the instruction below to help you make these arrangements:

  2. When do I start to make clinical arrangements?
  3. How do I arrange those hours?
  4. What documentation do I need to fill out?

When do I start to make clinical arrangements?

In order to successfully secure clinical in a timely manner please:

  • Start to arrange clinical rotations early.
  • Finalize arrangements at least two weeks before the semester starts.
  • Realize some hospitals prefer two months notice.

Past students have failed there courses because they waited until the semester started to make these arrange clinical.

What documentation do I need to fill out?

The documentation you need to fill out depends on the course and hospital requirements. Generally speaking, before a student can start a clinical rotation, the following documents must be in place:

  • 1. An Affiliation Agreement or a Master Internship Agreement
  • 2. A hospital specific packet

Affiliation Agreements

This document is drafted by the legal counsel of both BYU-Idaho and the partnering organization. Formalizing these agreements takes a significant amount of time. Once in place the agreement applies to all BYU-Idaho BSN nursing students for the duration specified therein.

Generally, only hospitals frequented by our students seek to establish such an agreement.

Master Internship Agreement

When an Affiliation Agreement does not exist between BYU-Idaho and the hospital you seek to complete clinical hours at, you will need to fill out the Master Internship Agreement form.

Students are required to have a Master Internship Agreement Form signed by the clinical agency where they are completing their clinical. This is an internship agreement between BYU-Idaho, the student and the clinical provider which enables you to complete clinical practice at that particular health care facility. It is your responsibility to have this agreement signed prior to beginning any of the following courses: Nursing 327, 330, 449 or 450

If a hospital informs you that an Affiliation Agreement is preferred, please realize the formalization process could take longer than a full semester to finalize.

Hospital Packets

These packets generally contain information about the hospital and required hospital forms you need to submit to the hospital. Each facility and organizations packet will vary.

If a packet is needed, the hospital coordinator will provide you the packet.
