Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing:
General Information
RN to BSN Program
The Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing at Brigham Young University-Idaho is designed for
- currently licensed Registered Nurses
- with desires to enhance nursing knowledge
- and/or to expand employment opportunities
The RN to BSN Program is available:
- Winter, Spring and Fall semesters
- online,
- on-campus or
- a combination of online and on-campus
- and generally takes three to six consecutive semesters
Upon completion of the RN to BSN Nursing curriculum, the Graduate will utilize the nursing philosophy as a guide for holistic nursing care and will be prepared to:
Stewardship
- Demonstrate accountability and independence for designing and administering nursing care.
- Assume increasing responsibility for personal and professional stewardship goals.
Knowledge
- Administer, direct, manage, and coordinate holistic nursing care for individuals, families, and communities.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of self and community by pursuing further education.
- Utilize, conduct and evaluate nursing research.
Professionalism
- Be prepared to accept roles within professional nursing organizations.
Critical Thinking
- Apply knowledge and understanding of self by utilizing critical thinking.
Caring
- Recognize, initiate, and develop caring attitudes and relationships.
Nursing process
- Utilize the nursing process in providing nursing care through organizing and directing interdisciplinary groups within the Health Care Community.
