Qualifications for Acceptance to RN to BSN Program
Applicant Qualifications
All applicants to the RN to BSN program must meet the following qualifications:
- Have an R.N. Licensure within the USA before taking any B.S.N. level clinical nursing courses.
- Be admitted to BYU-Idaho.
Applicants will be evaluated on:
- Completeness of Nursing Application
- Work experience in nursing
- Meeting university GE/Foundation requirements
- GPA
Please note: BYU-Idaho may not accept transfer credits from non-accredited institutions and programs. This would increase the number of General Education / Foundations courses required to obtain a baccalaureate degree. Contact the Health Professions Advising Office at 208-496-2348 if you have questions.
If transferring credits, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that courses are equivalent and transferable. Contact BYU, Idaho Student Records Office (208-496-1001) to review courses in question.
Selection Priority
Although not guaranteed, the Nursing Department strives to admit 60 applicants each semester (40 Full-time and 20 Part-time). Applicants are admitted in the following priority:
1. Ricks College/BYU-Idaho ASN graduates
2. ASN graduates from other Colleges or Universities
