actors performing at BYU-Idaho

Students will perform for the first time at Brigham Young University-Idaho, A Murder is Announced, a play adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel. Opening June 5 and running through June 15, the Department of Theater and Dance will perform the classic and entertaining whodunit play in the Snow Black Box Theater in Rexburg.

One morning, an announcement is published in the local newspaper that states the date, time, and location of a murder. Sure enough, the foretelling message comes true and the detective work of Agatha Christie’s beloved character, Miss Marple, ensues.

The plot thickens with a second death, mixed motives, and concealed identities. With humor scattered throughout the production, A Murder is Announced becomes an entertaining and delightful experience for guests.

“People will enjoy this show because of its mystery, characters, and sense of humor,” said Trevor Hill, play director and theater faculty member. “One of the conceptual ideas we've had was to play with the doom and gloom of the story with an element of tongue and cheek.”

Tickets are $3 for BYU-Idaho students and $6 for the general public. For a complete list of showtimes and to purchase tickets online, visit byui.edu/tickets. Tickets are also available for purchase at the University Store Ticket Office or by calling 208-496-3170.
