December 17, 2009

Writer: Writer: Don Sparhawk

Jim Carrey, Michael Jackson, Louie Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Ricky Martin, Cat Stevens, The Temptations, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. These are just a few of the musical performers to take the stage during Jason Hewlett's one-man at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Hewlett last performed at BYU-Idaho in May 2008. A native of Salt Lake City, he began work in Las Vegas for "Legends in Concert" as Ricky Martin in 2001. After having gained 30 pounds from his wife's cooking, he decided it was time to become Elton John for Legends as well.

The show will be held Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Auditorium at BYU-Idaho. Tickets for the Center Stage Performing Arts Series event are $12 for the general public and $6 for BYU-Idaho students. Tickets may be purchased by calling the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office at 496-2230 or ordering online at www.byui.edu/tickets.
