Statistics released this week for Spring Semester 2011 show a total enrollment of 14,296 students, a 9 percent increase over last spring.
According to data from the BYU-Idaho Student Records and Registration Office, the number of full-time students increased by 9.5 percent to 12,183; and for the first time, a stat has been added tracking students taking classes only online, comprising 861 students (or 6 percent of the total student body). These increases come as a result of an enrollment expansion plan the university began implementing Fall Semester 2010.
This semester, the student body consists of 3,863 freshmen, 3,786 sophomores, 2,937 juniors and 3,659 seniors. There are 3,947 married students, comprising 28 percent of the student body. There are 6,556 male students (46 percent) and 7,740 female students (54 percent). The university has 410 international students, representing 59
