Elder M. Russell Ballard to speak at Winter Commencement

Elder M. Russell Ballard, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will address 1,657 graduates (a 6 percent increase over last winter) at Brigham Young University-Idaho's Winter Commencement on April 6. The event will be held at 5:45 p.m., in the BYU-Idaho Center.

Elder M. Russell Ballard was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Oct. 6, 1985, and had previously served as a General Authority since April 1976.

Prior to his call as a full-time Church leader, Elder Ballard had interests in the automotive, real estate, and investment businesses. He has served on many Church and civic committees and boards.

Accompanying Elder Ballard at BYU-Idaho's Winter Commencement will be Elder Paul V. Johnson, commissioner of the Church Educational System.
