Pianist Jim Brickman to perform during Spirit Week at BYU-Idaho

As part of the Center Stage Performing Arts Series and Spirit Week, renowned pianist Jim Brickman will perform at Brigham Young University-Idaho on Saturday, July 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium.

Tickets are $20 for the general public and $10 for BYU-Idaho students. They can be purchased at the Manwaring Center Ticket Office, by calling 496-2230 or online at www.byui.edu/tickets.

Brickman has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the sound of adult contemporary music with his pop-style solo piano. His career began as a college student writing commercial jingles, first for clients in his native Cleveland, then nationally. In 1994 he turned his talents to the art of the romantic popular song.

Some of his best-known compositions include the chart-toppers "Valentine," "The Gift," "Love of My Life" and "Peace." In November 2005, he held the top three spots on Billboard's New Age chart for his albums "The Disney Songbook," "Grace" and "Greatest Hits."

Brickman has established a reputation for his collaborations with many of the entertainment industry's most gifted musical artists: Martina McBride, Michael W. Smith, Kenny Loggins, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Collin Raye, Pam Tillis, Michael Bolton, Donny Osmond and Olivia Newton-John.

His recording career includes a 2003 Grammy nomination for his CD "Peace," four Number One and 10 Top Ten radio hits, one Platinum-selling album, and four certified Gold Records.
