Dallin Hansen attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University, earning degrees in Music Education and Orchestral Conducting. He has studied violin with Kevin Call, Lamar Barrus, Donna Fairbanks, and most recently Gerald Elias. As a student, he was winner of the Ricks College concerto competition. He performed with the Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras at BYU, including tours to Russia and central Europe, and participated in the Penderecki String Quartet Intensive Chamber Music Workshop (Waterloo, Ontario). In conjunction with his graduate studies at BYU, he directed the University Strings, University Orchestra, and was assistant conductor of the BYU Chamber Orchestra. Upon graduation he taught in the Davis School District, has conducted ensembles for the Utah Valley Youth Symphony, and for two years served as the music director of the Lincoln Youth Symphony (Brigham City, Utah). Mr. Hansen currently teaches violin, directs the University Orchestra, and performs with the Faculty Serenata Strings Quartet at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
