Dr. Bill Holman joined the faculty in 2001. He currently teaches clarinet, woodwind methods and co-directs the marching band. He performs with the Orchestra at Temple Square as co-principal clarinetist. Dr. Holman previously taught at Brigham Young University, Jacksonville University, the University of North Florida and Florida Community College. He taught 17 years at Fletcher Middle School and regularly performed with the Jacksonville Symphony and First Coast Wind Ensemble.
Dr. Holman has been principal clarinetist of the National Symphony of Colombia and professor at the National Conservatory. He is a former member of The United States Army Band, Quintet of the Americas and The Bela Trio. He received degrees from Florida State University (BME), Catholic University of America (MM) and the University of Iowa (MFA, DMA). His principal teachers include Harold Wright and Robert Genovese. Dr. Holman is a Rico International GCS Artist and performs on Selmer Signature clarinets.
