The Women's Choir is an auditioned choir of 90-100 ladies, directed by Dr. Eda Ashby, designed to provide an opportunity for skilled, talented ladies to perform choral music together, and to serve the Lord, church, university, and community through music. Members of the group improve their skills and develop leadership through class organizational work, special rehearsals, and public performances of high quality traditional and modern choral literature. Women's Choir rehearses Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 3:15-4:15. In addition to performing independently, the Women's Choir combines with Men's Choir for larger works and special occasions, including Handel's Messiah, the Sacred Music Project, and the annual Barbershop Festival. Concurrent enrollment in voice lessons is encouraged, but not required. Acceptance into this group is by audition and subsequent permission of the instructor.
