Chamber Winds is comprised of wind instruments and collaborative musicians from all areas who perform challenging selections from all time periods of the chamber music repertoire. Both majors and non-majors are invited to participate as assigned through ensemble placement auditions in each studio.

Chamber Winds provides an opportunity for wind players to prepare and perform challenging selections through weekly rehearsals and faculty coaching. Student musicians are organized into chamber groups such as, but not limited to wind quintet, reed quintet, reed trio, wind trio, flute and harp duo, larger choirs, and more. The art of chamber music gives students the opportunity to engage in independent, professional-level collaboration.

Chamber Brass includes a select group of brass players performing challenging selections from the chamber music repertoire. Students also participate in Sinfonietta, musicals, and opera performances. Audition is required.

Chamber Strings offers select string students opportunities to explore string chamber music in quartets, quintets and/or trios, as well as chamber orchestra repertoire in the Sinfonietta. The course regularly includes a week-long professional string quartet residency. Audition is required.
This course provides string students the opportunity to organize, rehearse and perform chamber music throughout a full semester. Each chamber ensemble rehearses both independently and with the personalized coaching of a faculty member. During alternating semesters, professional string quartets are brought to perform on campus and provide several days of instruction for these student chamber ensembles.

Flute Ensemble includes students playing flute, piccolo, alto flute, and bass flute. The ensemble is open to students of any major with any amount of experience playing the flute. No audition is required.
The BYU-Idaho Flute Choir is a chamber ensemble composed of flutists from across campus who perform on flute, piccolo, alto flute, and bass flute. This ensemble is open to students of any major with any amount of experience playing the flute. The Flute Choir provides its members the opportunity to continue improving their skills as both flutists and chamber musicians while working on challenging and diverse repertoire for flute choir.

The Saxophone Ensemble focuses on classical repertoire, giving students the opportunity to become better saxophonists individually and in their participation as part of an ensemble. The Saxophone Ensemble performs on the Woodwind Chamber Recital, Saxophone Master Class, and other occasions as opportunity permits. The group is open to any saxophonist who wishes to participate. No audition is required.

The Clarinet Choir is a chamber ensemble for Eb, Bb, Alto, Bass, and Contra-bass clarinets. This ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire and are featured on the clarinet studio recital each semester. Students become stronger musicians by collaborating with each other and gain valuable experience on each type of clarinet. Rehearsals are integrated into clarinet masterclass. The ensemble is open to any clarinetist who wishes to participate. No audition is required.
