Ensemble Audition Information: Piano

Students desiring to major in music with an emphasis in piano are required to audition at the beginning of the semester to insure successful completion of the degree.
The audition of 10-15 minutes should include repertoire similar to that listed below (memory required).
Repertoire should be representative of at least 3 of the 4 categories:
- Bach, Two Part Inventions, Preludes and Fugues
- Sonatas of appropriate difficulty by Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart, such as Beethoven, Op. 10 No. 1; Haydn, Sonata in E minor, H. XVI:34; Mozart, Sonata in G major, K. 283
- Mendelssohn, Songs without Words; Chopin: easier Nocturnes and Waltzes, Mazurkas, Preludes
- Bartok: Mikrokosmos Vol. 6
