Jon Klein is Professor of Horn and Coordinator of Brass Studies at BYU-Idaho. Since joining the faculty in 2010 he has taught Introduction to Music, Brass Methods, Brass Literature, Brass Pedagogy, and has conducted the Brass Choir and Symphony Band. Dr. Klein studied music performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Boston University. He completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Utah in 2012. Primary teachers include horn soloist Eric Ruske, Robert Ward of the San Francisco Symphony, Philip Munds of the Baltimore Symphony, and Stephen Proser of the Utah Symphony. As an active performer and chamber musician, Dr. Klein is a member of the BYU-I Faculty Brass and Wind quintets. Additionally he has performed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Chamber Orchestra/Ballet West, Boise Philharmonic, Billings Symphony and the Spokane Symphony.
