Dr. R. Kevin Call joined the faculty in 1984. He holds a doctorate in Viola Performance from the University of Michigan, master's and bachelor's degrees in Viola Performance and Music Education, respectively, from Brigham Young University. Principal teachers include Donald McInnes, the legendary William Primrose, David Dalton and Henri Temianka (violin). Dr. Call has performed regularly as both guest soloist and ensemble member with orchestras throughout the area including the Utah Symphony, Boise Philharmonic, Idaho Falls Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and for 15 years as a founding member of the Sun Valley Summer Symphony. Dr. Call served for 24 years as conductor of the nationally recognized Ricks College/BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra. He currently conducts the school's open-enrollment University Orchestra. As a public school educator, Dr. Call taught from 1978-82 in Utah at Provo High School. His commitment to public school music education continues as a regular guest clinician, adjudicator, and conductor.
