The mentoring dashboard helps mentors identify at-risk students and connect them to on-campus resources.

Identifying At-Risk Students Through the Mentoring Dashboard

According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), university employees may only access personal student information for academic concerns.   1. This section shows a student's picture, name, I-Number, and Grad Plan status. In order to view a student's profile, including their history with Advising and Grad Plan, mentors must click on “View Profile” directly under the student’s picture.
  2. This icon indicates a student’s GPA trend. A student whose GPA has gone up will have a green icon with an arrow going upwards, a student whose GPA has declined will have a red icon with an arrow going downwards, and a student whose GPA has remained consistent will have a gray icon with a stop sign.
  3. This section shows a student’s cumulative GPA. A student who has a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or lower is considered at-risk and will have a red or orange line filling this section.
  4. This section indicates a student’s at-risk tier status. If a student does not fall under at-risk tier criteria, this section will be blank. At-risk tiers rank from 1 to 5, with tier 5 being the most at-risk.

  1. This section provides mentors with a student's information such as major, email, and phone number.
  2. The "History" section provides mentors access to a student's history with Advising, presented from most recent to least recent. A student's history with Advising can be filtered by clicking on the three lines next to the search field.
  3. The “Overall Student Risk” section show’s a student’s at-risk tier status, if applicable, as well as a graph of their GPA trend.
  4. The "I-Plan Details" section allows mentors to view a student's Grad Plan, anticipated graduation date, GPA, and excess credits.
