It is important for all students to have a positive experience at BYU - Idaho. In order to help you achieve your academic and career goals, the university has provided several resources for your use and benefit.
The graduation planner (grad plan) is an online tool that you can use to plan your coursework throughout your educational career at BYU - Idaho. All Mechanical and Civil engineering students are required to complete and regularly update a grad plan before receiving authorization to register for classes. The "Creating a Semester by Semester Grad Plan" document provides the resources you will need to create your grad plan.
The University and College of Physical Sciences and Engineering have provided an advising center called the Academic Discovery Center, located in Austin 106. The Academic Discovery Center can assist you with general academic questions, class & graduation planning, course sequencing, academic holds/restrictions, and other academic-related issues and questions. You can find many resources online (http://www.byui.edu/academic-discovery-center), or stop by and visit them in person.
Every student is assigned a Faculty Mentor in order to assist you in reaching your academic and professional goals. They have the knowledge and experience to help you determine academic and career choices.
To find your Faculty Mentor, log on to your My BYUI account, and your Faculty Mentor will be listed in the Academic Summary section.
When it's time for you to complete an internship, the Department Internship Coordinator has been assigned to oversee your experience, provide a syllabus, inform you of department guidelines, etc. You should visit with the Department Internship Coordinator when it's time to start searching for an internship.
