The American Society of Civil Engineers is an international professional organization founded in 1852 with over 150,000 members. Its mission is to advance technology, encourage lifelong learning, promote professionalism and the profession, develop civil engineering leaders and advocate infrastructure and environmental stewardship.

Become a National ASCE Member for Free

Students may become a national member of ASCE for free. Membership in ASCE provides students with access to ASCE resources including the Career Connections job board which lists opportunities for full time employment and internships.

Description and Purpose of the ASCE Student Chapter

The BYU-Idaho ASCE student chapter is a student led organization that seeks to promote the profession among students by providing students with a support network, social opportunities, education about the profession, and networking with professional engineers.

The ASCE student chapter provides opportunities for students to serve as officers, attend field trips, learn from guest speakers, take part in friendly competitions and be involved in student outreach.
