Quantitative Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning Requirement
Beginning Fall semester 2008, all students will need to fulfill the Quantitative Reasoning requirement (within the Foundations program) by choosing one of the following options:
- Successfully complete Foundations Math 108, "Mathematical Tools for the Real World." This course covers basic probability & statistics, personal & family finances, mathematical modeling, logical reasoning, and problem solving. Most students will find Option 1 to be the best choice for them.
- Successfully complete one of the following classes: Math 109, 110, or 112. Competency in basic probability & statistics and personal & family finances must also be demonstrated. (For details about competency requirements and testing, follow the Test-out Options link above.)
- Successfully complete one of the following classes: Math 221, 222, or 223. Competency in personal & family finances must also be demonstrated. (For details about competency requirements and testing, follow the Test-out Options link above.)
