Once a year, the BYU-Idaho Academic Office brings in national leaders in instructional development and curriculum design to speak with the university faculty. Past workshops include presentations from Ken Bain and Dee Fink.
This year, the Academic Office has arranged for Barbara Walvoord to come to campus for an all-faculty presentation Friday, June 7th, 2013.
Dr. Barbara E. Walvoord is a professor emerita at the University of Notre Dame. She has consulted or led workshops at more than 350 institutions of higher education throughout the United States, on the topics of assessment, teaching and learning, and writing across the curriculum. She has also been the author of several publications on program assessment.
Dr. Walvoord will meet with the faculty from 12:00-1:30 on June 7th in the MC Grandballroom. Lunch will be provided. Faculty who have classes during that time are asked to plan for group or student-led assignments for their classes so they can attend this important workshop.
Our guest will also lead a number of meetings with deans, department chairs, and other academic leaders focusing on program assessments and outcomes during her visit here.
